Developers did an about-face in 2017, when they saw the sales success of the Villas at Mountain Shadows, where - gasp - condos sold easily for the $2 million+ range. Buildings at the Villas at Mountain Shadows are lower density - only 2 stories, with single level condos on the first or second floor, and garages. Yet the location is coveted - nestled between Mummy mountain and Camelback mountain, next to the Mountain Shadows resort with a golf course and restaurant a short stroll away.

Hotels Lend their Name

Copying the success of the Villas at Mountain Shadows, the Ritz Carlton Residences have the name cachet that allow them to sell for top dollar. Technically in Paradise Valley, the Residences at the Ritz Carlton are a bit removed from the mountains, but they have easy access to downtown Scottsdale. The 3 story buildings have single level condos, with underground parking and some private garages. You can pay for personal service here, with a concierge, housekeeping, out-of-town checks, and lots more.

Next to the famed Phoenician Hotel Resort is Ascent at the Phoenician, located at the base of Camelback Mountain. This ultra-luxury community has both the single level villa style with private garage (similar to the Villas at Mountain Shadows) and the single level low-rise buildings. Best of all, residences are right next to the Phoenician resort where you can take advantage of their amenities and restaurants.

Need to be Away From It All?

Head up to North Scottsdale for a quieter residence. Icon Silverleaf, part of the DC ranch master planned community has single level condos within the 4-story buildings (with the first floor for parking and the lobby). It's all about the view and the space here, with many condos having a full on view of the McDowells, and some condos reach 6500 square feet. Residents can walk to the Village Health Club next door.
