Scottsdale Condo Mania > Scottsdale Luxury Condos

Lock and leave lifestyle - Close to work and play – A quick getaway with amenities you don’t take care of. This kind of lifestyle is attracting Scottsdale luxury condominium buyers. For the first time, Scottsdale luxury home buyers have many condominium choices in the $800,000 plus price range.

For many buyers, location is key. The downtown Scottsdale area is buzzing with condominium development, with more than a thousand new units coming online in the next few years. More luxury shopping, restaurants and businesses will most certainly follow, catering to these well-healed residents. Many developers are selling units that won’t be completed for a year or more, and some developments have restrictions that prevent new owners from selling within a year or more after completion.

Main Street Plaza Want to buy in downtown Scottsdale now? Consider Main Street Plaza, smaller development of lofts and mid-rise condominiums that start at the $800’s to over $2 million. Steps from the doorstep of Main Street Plaza is Main Street in “old town” Scottsdale, which is home to restaurants and art galleries.

The Third Avenue Lofts is another choice – many of these units are more of a loft style, with exposed pipes and very high ceilings, though there are some units that have finished ceiling.

If you don’t mind waiting, you’ll have several other choices. The Optima Camelview (selling its last phase) is a complex of over 700 units, most of which have garden balconies. Residents have a short walk to Scottsdale Fashion Square and some Scottsdale Road shops and restaurant. Another choice is Safari Drive, a new development on the waterfront (the canal going through downtown Scottsdale) in the beginning stages of construction. The Optima Camelview and Safari Drive are both in a very central location off of Scottsdale Road, but traffic is very congested here.

Kierland LoftsAnother area drawing million-plus buyers is Kierland. The Kierland Plaza Lofts caters to the buyer that loves being right next to a beautiful outdoor mall, with restaurants and shopping practically as far as rolling out of bed. A golf course is nearby, and so is the 101 freeway. The Landmark, just down the street from the Kierland Plaza Lofts, sits next to the Kierland golf course (residents have reduced greens fees), and has a beautiful common room and pool area.

If you prefer to stay away from mid-rise condominiums but still want the low-maintenance lifestyle, consider a luxury townhome in Scottsdale. Most high-end townhomes are in North Scottsdale, with many in DC Ranch. Sometimes called “villas”, these properties usually are one story, have a shared wall and a patio looking out to a desert area or golf course.
